This is a special edition that pays tribute to independent bookstores around the world. This collaboration is for the fourth consecutive year a recognition of independent bookstores and the world of printed letters. The pencils have a firm Japanese graphite core, covered by Californian incense cedar wood; this protects the lead and offers the perfect hardness to provide easy and uniform sharpening. The rear ferrule includes a clip that holds the eraser. The design of the ferrule makes the pencils not roll on the table, making them easier to use. The eraser is removable by pressing (refills available) and does not stain when erasing. The pencils have a lacquered exterior finish with gold trim. On the side of the pencil you can see the Blackwing logo branding printed in gold.
ARTISTIC STYLE FOR TRUE SYBARITES
Blackwing pencils were originally introduced by the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company in the 1930s. Their cult following included John Steinbeck, Vladimir Nabokov, Truman Capote, Chuck Jones who proudly used the Blackwing 602 to create Bugs Bunny and many other Looney Tunes characters. He declared that a pen is full of ink, but the Blackwing is full of ideas. In 2010, Palomino released a reissue of the legendary pencils that disappeared in 1990.
